UV systems expose the water to ultraviolet light waves at a controlled rate. Any bacteria in the water will absorb the UV radiation and their DNA will be inactivated, preventing the bacteria from reproducing. Over 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, mold, yeast, and algae are destroyed by UV treatment.

At the heart of each UV system are specially designed Colorgaurd UV lamps with a failure rate of less than 0.05%. FDA compliant systems are available and validated lamps include a traceable lot number and a “Validated Lamp Test” certificate..
