Multi Media Filtration (MMF)

Water turbidity and high SDI values are common problems faced by many plants that use RO and DI equipment for their ultra pure water needs. Tiny insoluble particles such as ferric iron, silt, and other precipitates can reduce the performance of downstream water treatment equipment.

Puretec’s multi media filters can remove these suspended solids from the water so they do not foul RO membranes or interfere with ion exchange performance. This ensures that you are able to maximize production, reduce RO membrane cleaning frequency, and meet demanding quality requirements.

A multi media filter works by allowing incoming water to flow through successive layers of media with decreasing porosity. Particles become trapped within each layer based on size and this process can be optimized with the use of a coagulant injected upstream.
